I've been working in sell-side research (MBS/Fixed Income ) for 15 years now, and part of me thinks that this downturn is going to be deep and long. In addition, the prospect of higher taxes coming in over the horizon make me worry about staying high-tax high-cost-of-living areas.
So, thinking out loud, is it possible for an MBA with finance/economics concentration to find work in a low cost state like texas or oklahoma (for example).
I suspect I might not be the only one thinking this way. The last year has made a lot of us who had previously worked in banks and broker/dealers reexamine our careers-- sometimes involuntarily.
I haven't decided to throw in any towels to be sure, but on the other hand, I don't want to be completely parochial.
